Conservation of Corals Ecosystem

Jason Michel

Mauritius is surrounded by coral reefs, which is the habitat of many aquatic animal. With the impact of pollution, our corals ecosystem are facing lots of damages.Pollution are making our corals susceptible to diseases which are further leading them to dead.Consequently our marine creatures are affected when there is no corals as they depend onit for their living. Therefore if we want to protect our marine creatures we should protect our corals as they all form part of the ecosystem. This is why,The Mauritius Reef Conservation Association is working together with boat operators, fishermen, hotelier and community group to conserve and restore the coastal and marine environment of mauritius. They use buoys “Flotteur” in order to marked the area located for conservation. My artwork is an overview of a conserved area where corals ecosystem are being protected for conservation. You can do see how ship wreck are being use for this preservation.Through with this conservation of corals, there is hope that the fish population can significantly increase and our reefs will be beautify by bright colourful corals. My artwork also creates hope and aspirations for a better coral ecosystems.
