Kelp Symphony

Pam

Kelp Symphony is inspired by the quote “As Above So Below”. The sea is another world of its own. For us humans, trees are of importance for our survival providing physical and spiritual benefits so do kelps in the silent world. Kelp forests not only provide food and create habitats for those that belong to the sea but help stem the tide of climate change effects which I have shown in my painting, the plants reaching the surface of the sea, acting as a filter against sunlight.
My main medium used is acrylic and I have used modeling paste to create some depth and texture as well as alcohol.
My colour palette reflects the richness of blues of the sea and highlighted by the vibrancy colours of the living creatures.
