Mahebourg
manondrbMy work was painted on the 17th of April, 2021.
Following the Wakashio incidend in Mahebourg (2020), I felt very concerned ( as a surfer, as a maurician citizen, as a young student in sustainability ) about the oil spill and the damanges it was causing to our Beloved Coral Ecosystem. I wanted to raise awareness about this dramatic event, through Art.
On my work, you will see two fishes in a very colourful Ocean ( here, the choice of multicolor is the representation of diversity ). On those fishes, the flowing black paint represents the oil spill.
I use to say that I paint things that are surrounding us, but that we tend to forget the importance of. Many of my paitings are about the marine biodiversity and nature.
I am here using acrylic techniques and water, on a coton canvas.
