The cry of the ocean!
PriyaThe cry of the ocean, as the name suggests, is a cry for help.
Our coral reef is dying and unless we create awareness and take appropriate measures, this amazing ecosystem will disappear some day.
In my artwork, I have represented aspects of coral bleaching due to global warming causing extreme low tides. Together with pollution which affects corals and marine life.
Low tide – coral reef above water level in the background
Coral bleaching – I didn’t paint some corals covered in garbage as opposed to others with vibrant colours. Right hand corner.
Water pollution – effluent discharge pipe into the sea.
Direct pollution with garbage mostly plastic – right hand corner and turtle wrapped in fishermen’s nets.
