The plea of the Coral QueenKetsia
This art piece depicts the downfall of a beautiful queen as the environment behind her is falling to pieces and the gold flakes are disappearing representing the ecosystem’s degradation. In the foreground, we can see all the beauty that is about to be as dark as the background and the crown of the queen broken in two on her head. Her expression is ambiguous as she is torn between sadness and anger. Her plea for help is a significant and alarming call for each of us. The splash of colours is also very ironic as it will not last long; it is melting on the right-hand side and thus gradually disappearing.
