The World Is My Body

The World Is My Body highlights the interconnectivity between humanity and the coral ecosystem - both in a fragile state. It depicts the impacts and relationships of the natural and the human while showing us forms that once existed but are slowly fading away.
Understanding the wider environment as an extension of the human body this piece shows us humanity in a state of auto-amputation vis-à-vis the nature it is destroying.
Made out of paper and covered with bandage, the materials were chosen with respect to their intrinsic characteristics of tearing, wounding, and dysmorphia - keywords that define the state in which humanity and the natural ecosystem of corals find themselves in.
The possibly charming white aesthetic bases itself on the discoloration of corals to white leading to their death.
