In my work I use a technique of fluid painting because it describes the ‘mystery’ of the octopus. I don’t think we yet grasp the essence of an octopus and all its capacity. Moreover, I use the technique of focus like Georgia O’keefe, and I put more focus on the tentacles because as many as they are They are interdependent of one another. And that is something to ponder upon to look at, to really grasp that we are hurting animals that are so magnificent, animals we have yet to 100% understand (in my own opinion).
I use dark and vibrant colors because it can show how unknown it is. And how much suffering this octopus can go through not only from us but while living in the ocean’s depth.
My artwork can raise awareness as it reminds us that we are not better than any living thing and we can learn from them and protect them if we stopped and look.
