Untitled

Gianish

I wanted to show that as this hermit crab has made this plastic cap his home, we might ourselves in the near future make a plastic island our home. If we do not protect our reefs, in the near future we might see a senario like in the painting where there is more plastic on beaches than sand, where hermits crabs have no more shells to hide and must hide in plastic waste to survive. I chose to do it in black and white as it is something that makes me sad to think that one day, my children will only see the beauty of our marine ecosystem in pictures. The drawing is encompassed in a bubble like shape which fades away as it is only a possible future.
